David Lever started his working life in 1964 as an electronics engineer at the Institute of Hydrology at Wallingford, Oxfordshire, designing instruments and circuitry for measuring various parameters of the weather. After 4-5 years, his interest in meteorological science waned and he took to the road, travelling around Europe, North Africa and Israel.
In the period since the early twenties, David has taught himself cabinet-making, leatherwork, jewellery and silver-smithing and has experimented in wrought iron work. For the last twenty years David has been designing and making jewellery, supplying shops and galleries throughout East Anglia and for several years taught silversmithing at Isle College, Wisbech.
