Sally McGill has been exhibiting her work regularly since 1998, showing in and around London and also in France and Switzerland, both in solo and group shows. At Originals 2006 Sally was awarded the Julian Trevelyan Memorial Prize.
"The main inspiration for my work comes from landscape, particularly when seen from the air so that the world becomes flat pattern. I am interested that you can often see the history of the land - tracks of former roads cutting across fields, standing stones, clearings etc. I like to organise shapes and patterns, starting paintings in a loose way, incorporating drips and accidental marks, working in layers and using a fairly limited palette."
