Tom Petit studied on the BA (Hons) 3D Design Course in glass and ceramics at Sunderland Polytechnic and at Brierley Hill International Glass course in the West Midlands. For five years he worked at the London Glassblowing Workshop selling his own work to several outlets, including Harrods and subsequently worked with Hothouse Glass in Derbyshire until 2001. He now lives & works on the edge of The Peak District, in Derbyshire.
Tom's latest works from the Sea Shore ranges, which are continuing to evolve, were influenced by his childhood outings in East Sussex. He aims to try to capture the flint & cobbled beaches of this area in an abstract beachside landscape. All pieces are ground by hand, and each stopper is made for an individual bottle.
