The hedge for this image stood adjacent to the house which appears in the 1984 linocut Derelict 5. The crows are taken from other reference material. The lettering is inspired by the Sheryl Crown album artwork for 'Every day is a Winding Road'. The name Sheryl can be picked out from the text as underlined (although the 'S' The CROWS is upside down so the underlining appear above, and thus CROWS becomes CROW). This originally was created as the artwork for a smaller commercially printed Christmas card for family use in 1996, but this larger scale linocut was then sold as an editioned print.
The image was drawn directly onto the linoblock
